Project Information

Located in a rural area, a single carriageway road was proposed on various terrain (flat, rolling & mountainous) connecting three discrete sections which involve Coastal Section comprising approximately 28km of existing sealed road between Madang Airport Junction and Tapo Ford, Range Section comprising approximately 42km of existing and the partially sealed road between Tapo Ford and Using Junction and Inland Valley Section comprising approximately 102km of existing and the mainly sealed road between Using Junction and the Watarais Junction. The project consists of 172km new & upgrading existing alignment, major junctions, thirty-one (31) bridges and eighty-five (85) nos of the culvert. The scope of work for this project is to design the drainage system for the whole alignment. A major challenge for this project is hydrological & hydraulic design since it's involved a larger catchment up to 1975 square kilometres.
